As part of the joint work the Paul Casey Foundation and the Youth Sport Trust are undertaking with primary school children, The Paul Casey Challenge was launched in April this year.
The Foundation is funding Multi-skill Festivals involving 50 primary schools in each of 10 School Sport Partnerships across South West London and Surrey during 2010 – Paul challenged each school to encourage every single pupil to participate in their local festival!
Multi-skill Festivals help young children develop the fundamental movement skills of balance, coordination and agility by offering a range of interesting physical activities for pupils to try out. Included in each Paul Casey Foundation Multi-skill Festival is the Paul Casey ‘Hole in One’ Challenge! With children testing out their aim and co-ordination as they try to reach the ‘green’ or better still the ‘hole’ marked with the Paul Casey Foundation flag.
The Paul Casey ‘Hole in One’ Challenge has proved a great event – so far around 57,000 young people have taken part and even Paul had a go during a recent visit to the Multi-skill Festival held at Harris Academy Merton!
Schools taking part in the ‘Hole in One’ Challenge were invited by Paul to enter into a prize draw in recognition of their work to encourage pupils to participate, and the winning school will be hearing from us shortly!
